Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration


Morning Events

The day begins with a citywide breakfast sponsored by the Concerned Clergy at Ball State University.  At breakfast, you will hear from the 1st keynote speaker of the day and be learn which students will be recognized as the top performing academic seniors in the Delaware County schools for the current year.  









The morning concludes with an itinerary for the day including a march and a job fair.  There are various activities for youth of all ages at different locations.




Evening Service

The culmination of the day is the worship service. This service is held at one of the churches in the community.  You will hear a proclamation from the office of The City of Muncie and the final keynote speaker.





Graduating high school seniors, attending college in the fall, are given information to apply for the CCOM MLK Scholarship.

This service also features the MLK community choir and the MLK Distinguish Service Awards.

The 2024 MLK Distinguished Service Award was also given to Pastor Robert Scaife, who has served as the Concerned Clergy President for the last four years.


He lead through the pandemic & served the Muncie community as the CEO of Legacy Life Security Services. This organization provides resource security officers for the Muncie Community School System.


We thank Pastor Rob and all of the other recipients for their continual sacrifice and love for our community.
